DropOff_Pickup in Glacier Bay

Camper/Kayak Transportation Within Glacier Bay

Daily service from May 28 through September 1, 2013.

Baranof Wind

The camper transportation service is provided by the daily tour boat M/V Baranof Wind. The boat’s itinerary does include a tour of the West Arm glaciers. The boat departs daily at 7:30 AM and returns around 3:30 PM in time to connect with return flights to Juneau.

NPS designated drop off sites for both arms tend to be located at least a day’s paddle away from any glacier. Those wishing to kayak to the glaciers from the drop off sites should generally allow a minimum of four days. Note that the drop off sites are subject to change by the National Park Service in order to minimize impact on both land and wildlife. Please refer to our Drop-Off Points Map at the bottom of this page.
